Why Being Lazy Is Like Being Crazy?

One can always postpone work back more. Everyone thinks there’s always tomorrow and that time can wait. We selfishly put work on hold to steal time for lazy things. Maybe we don’t do things on time for fear of it taking too much time and effort. The excuses for being lazy are endless and all of them lead to great nuisance in life.

Everybody is at fault for being lazy sometimes. The most triumphant people too aren’t free from the temptations of laziness. Unfortunately, certain people do it more. There may be a billion things to do but we somehow convince ourselves to just do “after some time”. Slowly, later turns into tomorrow, turns into 2 days later, turns in next week, month, year and so on. Many of these things never get done.

We inescapably come up with all kinds of reasons up and this habit develops due to repetition. We sometimes have very little power over our reactions. Then, peeking within ourselves, we realize that it’s indecision and coyness that’s stopping us from doing what is needed. Or it could also be confusion and fear of making mistakes.

Such excuses should never be even thought. First thing you need to do is accept that you have a problem and this “problem” has a solution. Spoiling the time of our life by lying around idle will make us blame people later. But the fault is of course entirely yours alone.

Reasons and excuses are as varied as fish in the sea. Not wanting to fail, lacking the required skills, being a slacker, time constraints conflicting activities and so on. In time to come, surely people will get the smell of your foul laziness and stop trusting you. They won’t listen to you and won’t respect you. They’ll ask you to pull up your socks and they may cut you some slack too initially. But eventually if you continue they will permanently add you to the list of other similar untrustworthy, unreliable, lacy slackers to be avoided.

It doesn’t matter if these excuses are true or not or whether they are not excuses but real reasons. What possible reason can one have for not using one’s mind and body substantially? You need to understand that only you are the master of your ship and the captain of your soul. Face up to the reality and make mend your ways or you will slowly lose everything that’s not worth being lazy for and everything that life is all about. Life is about living life fully and not letting time, opportunity, talent and money slip away into oblivion.

Concentrating on the side-effects can encourage us to improve. We also need to keep in mind that we are not alone in this problem and there are millions out there facing the same troubles. Many defeat their weaknesses. When we’re feeling down, we need to bear in mind that all that is required is to move just one step forward. One at a time, slowly, steadily, men have conquered mountains. Your silly little problem is nothing. One by one your worries will get defeated if only you keep rowing.

Imagine what can be achieved and how good you’ll feel if you really put your best endeavors into it. Here’s another idea to trounce laziness. Give yourselves lazy time and work time. Work hard and play harder. Do things at their designated times. Manage time better. Work properly thus you will be able to enjoy leisure time better. Laziness is no reason for not attaining the fullest potential that we are capable of. Down with laziness.
