Do You Know You?

Having a daily list on hand always gets me out of tight situations. As I continue to work on my goals and priorities, as stated in the first & second part of the article, I need to follow through using a daily task list. My day-to-day task list becomes very useful and convenient for me.

What will you do now? Write up a “To-Do” list for the current day and the rest of this week. Each day keep an empty piece of paper beside you as you read. When a idea pops into your mind, jot it down immediately. This keeps you in the right direction the rest of the day. When you finish your list, review it again and compare it to the weekly ones.

I don’t know about you, but when I get to mid-afternoon, I sometimes have a brain-drain! I can’t remember what I am suppose to do that day. In fact, that happened yesterday. I was wandering around the house trying to remember the things on my “to do” list.

What if I simply forget? I look for my early morning list and check if there’s something that’s not been done. It’s that easy! My list is a very good memory aid as I get older and easily forget things.

Always review your plans and prepare for contingencies. As a mom, you know there is often a need for contingencies. When my oldest was born, I heard that moms should list “to do” tasks on multiple days. If you don’t get a task done the first day it is listed, you still have time to complete it on the next day AND . . . you don’t feel guilty for taking 2-3 days to complete a task. Now you will ultimately fulfill your goals.

A lot of us are somewhat relaxed with our schedules during the first of the year, whether you homeschool or not. It is the time to set goals for this new year. Get a pen and paper and start fulfilling your dreams. It’s something that you’ll be very happy about.
