Analyzing Feng Shui Principles for Your Home
Posted by Kyle Richey at May 18th, 2008 in Self Improvement
When it’s time to bring energy and health into your home by remodeling and redecorating, analyzing your feng shui can be of assistance. For instance, you can see if your home contains colors that add energy and vitality to your life, relax and calm you, or make you feel anxious and disordered. Then you can correct any problems you see. Decluttering the environment you live in can also help.
By giving some time, consideration, and critical thought to these subjects, you can begin to analyze feng shui to see if it there are any real scientific principles that can be applied.
Use of Color In Feng Shui
When you analyze feng shui and the use of colors you need to understand how color can change and influence feelings and moods. Lively, vibrant colors energize you. Imagine trying to be upbeat in an all-black room. Doesn’t that harsh color bring you down and make you feel quiet and depressed?
That’s why many people choose to decorate their kitchens in shades of orange or yellow. When we analyze the feng shui principle of using these colors in this room, we realize that they’re associated with sanitation, cleanliness, and an upbeat feelings.
Feng Shuis Lack of Clutter
The art of feng shui, when we really begin to analyze it, encourages an avoidance of clutter. Having too many items in your home, or any place you spend a lot of time might make you feel anxious or stressed. Too much clutter is a constant reminder of all the things you need to take care of, whether it’s a broken appliance, laundry to be done, or other chores. Positive energy isn’t encouraged by clutter.
How to Analyze Feng Shui In Your Home
So how can you apply these principles in your own home? You don’t need to be an interior designer to understand color. Take a good, long look at each of your rooms. How do you feel when you are standing in the doorway? Do you feel like you want to enter that room or do you feel depressed for any reason? Do you avoid the room in question because of something you dislike about it? If you are going to analyze feng shui, you will need to have a clear feeling for every room and face up to these feelings.
There are no set rules about clutter in any one area but you do need to be honest with yourself. Look at the things you are holding on to but do not use much or at all. Do these items add any value to your life or do they just get in the way and depress you? What kind of energy do you feel when looking at these items? You don’t have to keep anything “just in case” because this introduces negative energy into your home, which outweighs any benefits from supposed uses for these items.
If you just take a few minutes to analyze feng shui and see how it can work in your home and in your life, you’ll see that it has a lot of ways to benefit you. Follow these simple principles and see your life improve.
